Mobile Privacy & Security Tips
Best practices for maintaining your privacy and security while using Tor Browser on mobile devices.
Always Use Tor Browser
For any sensitive browsing, always use Tor Browser instead of your device's default browser. Your other apps and browsers do not have the same privacy protections.
Do Not Change Windows Size
Changing the size of the Tor Browser window can make your device unique and easier to fingerprint. Keep the default window size for maximum privacy.
Avoid Installing Plugins
Plugins and extensions can compromise your privacy by revealing your identity or fingerprint. It is highly recommended not to install any extensions in Tor Browser.
Do Not Enable Scripts
Enabling scripts (like JavaScript) on websites can expose your device to security vulnerabilities and tracking. Use the highest security level to disable scripts by default.
Do Not Open Documents
Avoid opening downloaded documents (PDF, DOC) directly in Tor Browser, as this can leak your real IP address to the internet. Save the file and open it offline instead.
Avoid QR Code Scanners
QR code scanners often rely on your device's camera, which can be a privacy risk. Avoid scanning QR codes directly within Tor Browser to prevent potential data leaks.
